Hi again, I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for businesses, mechanics to take my car to for servicing. I live on the northside of Brisbane.
Mechanical skills, I do not have, so won't be doing my own. My long term mechanic for my petrol cars suggested stick with Ford servicing because of the diagnostic equipment, any thoughts on that? Rightly or wrongly I am not always filled with confidence with the dealers . Otherwise will have to find a mechanic experienced with diesel Mondeo's As mentioned in my last post have only had the car for a short time, and was bought with approximately 54,000k on the clock, and with the 60,000 a major service, I am thinking of getting it done earlier rather than later. So far the gear changes have been fine, with a trip to Bribie Island and back with no issue. I hardly notice the gear changes, all very smooth and responsive, however have had 2 occasions where I have had to slow down on a decline, and then as I started accelerate a little faster, there was a very slight jolt. I am assuming just a little bit of confusion with the double clutch. Given that I have only noticed it in on 2 occasions and all else if fine, hoping a service will help. Any recommendations greatly appreciated Footrot

Any decent mechanic can do the servicing.
At 60,000 you need to do the trans fluid. I did my own last time. Filter cost about $40, the Fuchs DCT fluid $110 each by two. There's a good step by step on here. Search is your friend.

Most important to get the trans service every 60k...
That jolt will happen from slowing down to accelerate and vice versa. Gears 1,3,5 are on one clutch and 2,4,6 are on the other. Normally when accelerating the next gear is preselected ready to go, so shifts are quick and smooth... when you all of a sudden back off, transmission goes woah woah woah hes decelerating oh ****, get lower gear!!!! We feel it as a jolt or hesitation... Roundabouts is the most common times we feel it, but you get so used to it after awhile you dont notice it...
