I can't see how the HU can change the idle, unless you undid the battery.
If so the ECU needs to re learn, that are self learning so a drive will fix.

yeah it sh!T$ me off when i have to disconnect the battery and it stuffs up the idle. after a bit of driving it seems ok. last week i had to disconnect the battery and when i re connected it and started the car it stalled twice by itself!

another question, how do you change the idle speed and where is this?
oh and can anyone explain why my car idles differently all the time? as in sometimes it idles on the very first increment and other times it'll idle at the last increment before the '1'. why is this?

braden to check base idle the car needs to be at running temp then you disconnect the isc and start it up , the revs should be between 450-600 with the isc disconnected, you adjust this by the base idle screw[should be on the throttle body]when set turn off car and plug in the isc, then start the car and the isc controls the idle by the ecu.

Theres a dohickey you can get which connects a 9v square battery to the cig lighter to maintain ECU memory when diconnecting battery, about $20 IIRC.

Never used one on an E series, so dont know if it works for them, supposedly it does though.
