Default Universal superchargers- Do they work?

I just found this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TWIN-ELECTRIC...QQcmdZViewItem

Was wondering if anyone has tried it on focus or any other car for that matter. Would like to hear from them. Does it work?..is there an increase in power/torque? Is the increase in fuel consumption significant?

IGNORE AT ALL COSTS.

There's a reason you have never seen or heard of one EVER in a car mag or on tv or anywhere on this forum. They're rubbish. Do not even consider it, end of story.

Nuff said.

In all honesty people who actually think the item would work are.. to put it nicely silly buggers.

Theres nothing wrong with the IDEA of an electric supercharger.

This link gives you an idea of what it takes to make one work tho.

The bloke has spent 20 odd years developing it. It made his Nissan go from 120 rwhp to a bit over 200.

It is clear from the lengths he has had to go to make all work just how useless the ebay jobs are..

the only superchargers that work are the ones that are slapped to your engine and BOOST your PSI......and normally cost about 5g and about1-2 days to fit to a stcock engine.

will a tank of compressed air do the job?

Easy to install and refill with a bike pump.

Not quite, a bike pump wouldn't have the power to fill an air tank with enough pressure.

Ive heard horror stories with bearings out of these ''superchargers'' comming loose and flying inside your throttle body.

They suck on new cars. Older cars, maybe might work a bit.

They suck on anything. Even a lawnmower. It would possibly make a mediocre CPU heatsink cooler. But thats it.
