Default A favour...

Hi folks
I have been having a number of issues with my new Zetec Focus. The latest being creaking doors which according to the dealer have been fixed with Lithium grease. However I now notice that my door panels (3 out of 4) are not aligned properly. That is if you hold a straight edge (eg a credit card) against the door seam between the front and rear door there is a gap, enough for there to be a see-saw movement. Along with this I have uneven door gaps.

I have been told by the dealer that this is within normal factory tolerances and there is no adjustment to cure this on the new Focus. I struggle to accept that this is acceptable, perhaps from a early 1980's Ukranian Lada but not a modern German engineered vehicle.

Thus my favour to ask is this, could you take a look at your foci's and let me know if this is indeed a standard issue or do I have an adnormal level of build quality to deal with.

Thanks in advance, much appreciated.

Cheers
Steve

My door seals have been creaking since day 11. I tell them about it everytime I take my car back but they can't do anything about it.

I find the easiest way to 'fix' it is to get a 2 1/2 inch exhaust and 2 12 inch subs and all of a sudden you forget it's there :P

I've not had this 'creaking' expereince with our Focus Zetec.....yet. Only a mater of time no doubt..lol Some of the panels (bonnet and rear hatch) were not aligned well and have been fixed by the dealer.
