Default New Focus hard to start

Hi all,
have got a new Focus LX with 1200kms on the clock.
3 times now It has been hard to start. Seems to be in the morning and it just cranks over as if theres no fuel or spark. Otherwise there are no problems.
Started okay today so maybe tommorrow it may play up again....
anyone else had similar ????

My focus has had the same problem twice (600km on clock)

Once it started but then the engine seemed to chug, like it is trying to turn over.

What are other people's solutions???

It could be some dirty or rusty spark plugs. I had a similar problem with my LR, in for warranty service, problem identified, spark plugs cleaned and was all good.

In fact it happened just the other day again. Might have to check the spark plugs again.

Ours did the same. It's fuel. Stop using standard unleaded (I know they say you can but the engine hates it). Start using Premium and notice the difference immediately- better performance and economy.

This has been discussed in detail before.

CDAA ,
I only ever use premium in my vehicles. The car has 1300kms on it and has never had standard unleaded. Always 98 Ron if available , otherwise 95 Ron. Caltex or B.P. Never "budget" servo's.

That's interesting. Must be a programing clitch or fuel pick up issue. Bloody European cars!! We used to run ours on just unleaded and had the starting issue. Our dealer looked in it at the 3000km service and told us to only use premium. Since we have it has been fine, but having said that this was only 5-600 kms ago. I'll ask the wife how the car has been to see if it has been playing up.
