This happened to me also, about 2km from home, got about 750m and it was running real hot, decided to play it safe and get a NRMA tow truck, 45 mins later they send out a roadside assist van, WTF? I then thought he may have a belt on him? Nope, 'we dont carry belts' Then why the ИИИИ are you here, I asked for a tow truck!
ИИИИed him off and decided to drive home the rest of the way. It wasnt easy because when the alt/water pump belt snapped it took the power steer belt off too!

$15 for a belt isn't too bad, depending on the width/length those belts range from about $12 -$25.

Doesn't anyone open the bonnet and have a look before they get online to sort a problem?

Maybe the E series site needs a tech article on how to find bonnet releases, how to use them and how to buy a torch.

Not everyone is a qualified ****er (or mechanic, be it whichever you think) who know's what they are looking for when they look at an engine bay.

I for one, am one of those people who doesn't know ИИИИ about engine's. It's not my total interest, and that's why there is a mechanics industry. If everyone was so cluey as to know what was going on, mechanics wouldn't be needed.

We all sometimes post first look later, it can in fact save you a alot of time in diagnosing for one thing, and second sometimes its not possible to look at the car at the time, so posting first is a worthwhile exercise.

Good to see you got it sorted the a/c belt is not any harder to fix either, just have to remove all the other belts first, and the tensioner at the front of the engine has to be loosend off.
