Default Help Diagnose Rear Noise

Hi all,

Am getting knocking noises from the rear, im sure its not the exhasut. (AUII XR8 65000km)

I have heard people talk of the Rear upper strut going, is there any way to prove this is the problem.

I have tried giving it a wiggle fro behind the seat but there is not a huge amount of movcement.

Ant body got photos or suggestions on how to confirm this is the problem.

Thanks

Drop the rear seats and pull back the carpet so you can see the tops of the mounts. If they are loose you will see pretty clearly. If not, take it for a drive (or better still, get someone else to drive) and have a look at them as you go over a bump (speed hump is perfect) If they are gone the strut will try to punch right through it and move around really badly.

Its a fair bet this will be the problem, has all the symptoms.

Not sure, mine had either been redone before I got it or I have been exceptionally lucky. Havent had to do mine yet.
