Yesterday my partner received a call from her girlfriend that her husband had been killed on his motor bike on Sunday afternoon. They were riding their motor bikes together as they always did on Sundays when her husband may have mis-judged an over taking maneuver around car and was ultimately killed by the impact. The exact details have not been confirmed yet.
Both of them were mature (in their early 30's) and experienced drivers and were not driving like idiots. My wife and I have known them for a very long time (16 years for me and since school for my partner). As you can imagine we’re both still a little shaken. My partners girlfriend is beside herself. You just don't expect this to happen do you? My message is simple. It can happen. Don't ever become complacent on the road and keep safe. Colville

I would love a motor bike but its not so much myself that I dont trust, its others, sometimes they are hard to see.

Sorry to hear of you and your partners loss. It certainly can happen. Just try and think of all the good things about them. It will take time but you will heal. Speaking from a kindred spirit.

Oh My Goodness Colville I just discovered this thread.
What a terrible terrible loss and no you never ever think it will happen to you or to someone you love… but it can and it does. I admit that sometimes I think I am 10ft tall and bullet proof when I am driving but your story has just reminded me of how fragile our lives really are and I will try to curb this behaviour. This is a valuable lesson for all of us and thank you for sharing and thinking of others when you are obviously going through a very tough time. If you need to talk matey – you know where I am.
