I have a friend which has a EF XR8 he put a Persuit ECU in it which i presume is a police spec one.
He said it would also plug into a my XR6 Does these ECU's have different software for the 8 than the 6? anyone know? Should i just give it a go? or will I blow stuff up? :yeees:

all i know is the 6 and 8 ones are different (Timing)

Nope, you would need a xr6 computer. The 8cyl and 6cyl run very different fuel programs and sensors. You also cannot use a Manual ECU in an Auto and vice versa.
At an extreme cost, you maybe able to have it remapped but im not sure on that one. |

 : of course its not gonna work man how many cylinders does the 6 computer have to control compaired to the 8

I can see you point age182, but with the these ECU's ability to learn i wouldnt of been surprised if it did work however i do understand that it wouldnt. just needed confirmation
