Default The Axe Has Dropped! GRA all the way!

Well after fuel today hit $1.46 for preimium, I have decieded to go Straight Gas. Which is sitting on only 0.39c. + I travel 130km each day to and from work and it was starting to burn a real hole in my bank account and with the soon to be added Blower it all made sense to go this down this route.

Is anyone looking at going the gas route due to stupidly high petrol prices?

Mine cost about $3000 or so to install. That included EVERYTHING including tank, twin convertors, throttle body, labour etc etc

Or both. :P

Be warned that LPG prices are going to rise over time, but it's a better all-round fuel in my opinion. Comparing like with like (gas vs petrol with injection) it out-performs petrol too.

Not to sure cos I have everything bar the 2nd converter and the Throttle body. It just a matter of finding someone to do the lines, plumbing and wiring at the right price.

Red, you can't win. Face it. Admit it. Be a man. Don't enter this argument at all. There's no possiblity of you winning. So don't bother. Waste of time. I'm a redhead. You'll lose.

The mates who laughed at my $800 CFI straight gas conversion last year aren't laughing any more.
$30 worth of gas a week takes me the same distance that would need $80 worth of petrol. And the car performs just the same as it did on petrol.

Trouty, of course gas will go up in price and so will petrol, as it is now.

Bindi, one 'intelligent' will do us- three is a bit much, or are you just rubbing it in?

Im in 2 minds about this for my next setup.

I dont know what to do. Its going to be mainly a drag car but LPG might help my car get engineered for the mods IM going to do. But if its on LPG then you cant adjust the boost like you would normally, your pretty much limited to the one tune unless you take the car to get retuned and run propane or something.

I like the options petrol gives but LPG would be so cheap to run and if It can get engineered with the mods I want it would be completely street legal where as with petrol it wont be :(

Decisions Decisions.

If its not going to be anything other then a drag car, why not run it on something more expensive and more forced induction friendly. If you're not going to work every day in it, who cares about economy and fuel price.

Secondly, if its going to be mainly a drag car, why bother going through the heart ache of getting it road registered. Buy a trailer, its probably cheaper then the pain.

They are some good points.

I want to get it registered though and drive it on the road. I dont have a tow car yet :( It will still be street friendly. Just fast as well. :

Running C16 will be good too :P

At least with petrol I can have several different tunes to suit. ing_sm

After having my car for a month or so my mum just converted her EF XR6 to LPG. She claims it "still goes fast" hahaha, (she was worried it would make it underpowered LOL). The main reason is fuel where she is, costs around $1.28 for regular unleaded, and 39c for LPG, and she got so used to filling my car up for less than 30 bucks that she converted hers.
