I have an 88 EA 3.9CFI 3SPD Auto that is very very slow to start off, I have chaned the Torque converter to no provail along with the kickdown, ECU and Accelerator Cable :jab:
If any one has any ideas, could you plz help me? |

could it be the fact that it's a 3.9cfi 3spd auto?? they are all very slow to take off

i know they are slow, how ever this thing is abnormally slow to take off, compare to my 89 EA 3.9CFI 3SPD this things a morris minor.

yea my eb's the same, foot flat to the floor it takes forever to get moving, can't even do a stand still, it's utterly pathetic :

So the accelerator cable is opening the throttle fully? That was the problem with mine when I had a similar issue. Beyond that it could be anything - cat, timing...
If you ever have a free weekend, a cheap 3.08 or 3.23 diff would help. |

trouty diff like that with the 3speed would be bad, as they rev neerly at 2500 at 100 with 2.77's

i wanted to help you with your problem, sounds like your car is hammered, and you should probably get rid of it.
you say the car is very slow to take off, im assuming once it takes off, its "very fast" ? maybe your gearboz has had it. |
