Just a thought here,does the tfi module have to be connected to the side of the distributor or can you simply unplug the connector and plug it into another one and leave it dangling??,just curious.

dont they use the distributor body as a heatsink?? i recon they would fail pretty quickly if they didnt have a heatsink
xc v8's ran a separate dizzy module tho but it had a large alloy box with heatsink |

i was sure that the mounting screws provided an earth for the tfi module too?
