Default how do you "lose" 140 ls2/3 engines?

http://m.adelaidenow.com.au/news/sou...-1226434724047

How could Holden lose 140 ls 2/3 engines and 175+ transmissions????????

Surely in this day and age you know if you bought 10 ls engines and you don't have 10 to count. Do they have a back door sale?

Where would these engines go? Who would buy such engines? carousel sale at local gym carpark. Not many Sellers of these engines about.
