Default D2 adjustable coil overs

Done a bit of shopping around and unless you have a live axle au the IRS boys wont be seeing an adjustable kit from pedders ever.

I managed to come across a mob called D2 who make a full kit at a good price for $1000. Looks the goods, but having a hell of time finding information which has put me off the kit.

The people who supply it cant give me much information regarding installation, actual AU's it has been fitted to, replacement parts (for when says shocks fail) and the legal issues for using this kit on the street. The only info the suppliers can give me is that they have had them on vy and ve's with no dramas.

Just want any opinions on adjustable coilovers for IRS au's and if anyone has these "D2" kits in there car.

I have personally seen the damper shaft in D2 adjustable coil overs shear off putting a nice s14 into a wall at Queensland raceway.

I'd say keep away from them.

Adjustable coil overs are over rated on a street car. Most people buy them for **** factor.

I have bilsteins in my car, I dont really think they are ****. Sure, i dont adjust them every time I drive but if heading on a long trip / trip up the mountains / a day on the track i certainly do, really transforms the car!

if you want info on D2s, go on over to nissansilvia.com/forums and have a search.. they are a cheap coil. theres MUCH better coils for a little more... whether they would suit an au application or not however, i dont know for sure.

'decent cheap' (nearly an oxymoron) brand coil is BC coil overs... have a search around on those. alot of people track those on a budget and have a lot better results than the D2's...

in terms of good c/o's. you cant go past tein super street for a street setup imo.

incorrect. adjustable coilovers are illegal, and not all coilovers are adjustable.

Also in theory, you can set the coilovers to your desired height and tack weld the adjuster thread. so you get your desired height and no issues with legalities.

You hit the track so you are making use of them. I know quite a few people that will never see the track but still see fit to spend just over 2k to lower their car so they can look cool cruising to the spit every Sunday. Waste of money IMO in those cases.

HSD are ok, Cheap and i haven't heard anything bad yet. Not sure if they do a kit for Falcons though.

yeah i donno about that. im sure an officer of the law would love to just send you to regency for the sake of it. if/when i get them i'll just chance it untill defected then get them engineered.
