Default Lowing VR Calais?

I know this is the wrong forum and place to ask this, but my mate wants to lower his VR Calais, he said someone suggested him "lowering blocks". I thought lowering blocks are only used on cars with leaf spring suspension (which I think a VR Calais doesn't have?).

Thanks much.

I'm going to suggest lowering springs, but once you do that you generally have to replace the shock absorbers too right?

Doyou have to match them up or would any new shock absorber do with the new springs?

Thanks much guys.

Also I agree, put it in the press.

Same consept as falcon. It has coils all round. However watch the back, as lowering will induce excessive camber, so rear camber kits will be required.

It helps to match the shocks with the springs yes. I suggest your friend visits your local suspension shop. Lowering springs are the way to go. VR is notorious for bad camber on the rear when lowered - it may need other bits to do it "properly"

Just chuck some lowered springs in it...I'm sure he'd be happy with that

Let some air out of the tires. Then "it'll just go better."

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Aside from the usual biased replies, use replacement springs in either Low or SuperLow (SL) height and be careful with your shock choice, you need ones to suit the IRS rear setup.

I'd also suggest a camber kit as they are notorious to having camber issues when lowered.

If you had put in this in the suspension tech area you may have received the help without the usual comments in between.
