Default NSW Rego Prices

Hi all,
I have recieved my registration renewell for my BA XR6 and have a question.
2 months ago i paid and renewed my wifes AU Falcon and rego was $285.00 ..I received the rego for my BA this week and price is $405.00 ... Why the difference for basically a new version of the same car ????... weight difference is only about 100 Kg, have rego prices gone up or stamp duty in the last month or so ???.... the extra 100 or so dollars seem a bit excessive..anyone else renew recentlly on a BA and found a hike in price ?

The BA is most likely just slipping into the higher weight classification and being charged at that.
My NF Fairlane cost a ******** load more to register then the missus's EL XR8 just because I am just into the next weight class.

Shouldn't be. I just regoed my EF Farimont and it was $406. I cant imagine a EL XR8 will weigh much less then a EF mont six.

What, you mean you didn't know the true meaning of "working families"?
It means that you all have to work, all the time just to have enough money to survive.
Besides, like all government departments their mission statements are; "we've got what it takes to take what you've got".

RTA also stands for "Road Tax Authority", and they'll tax you anywhere, anytime and anyhow. In return they'll provide you with no infrastructure, no new roads and a call centre where they'll annoy you with beauraucrats that can't speak english, or just don't want to do anything to help you.

In short, like everything in NSW prices have gone up dramatically.

Unless they have gone up again.
That means the rego for my 4x4 will be over 1k this year.....................ouch thats going to hurt. Especially for a car that has done 2700km in 10 months.

Yeah NSW charges the road tax on the weight of the car.
Then we get screwed over with the green slip. (CTP) The price of that changes depending on the owners and drivers ages , age of the car and where you live.
It is a rort.
Then you have to add your yearly fees if you have personalised number plates as well. Luckily I still have the plates I got 15 years ago on my other car so I am exempt from the plate fee. At least thats a $90 saving each year.

why does every state have to have a different rego system? in s.a. it goes on cylinders, + as mentioned, we have the ctp all on the one bill.

and all those whinging about the cost of rego, ask GasO what it costs to register a B double for a year. hope you didn't want much change from that $15000 sir!!

I honestly, truly wouldn't mind paying more rego if I could actually see where the funds were going. Since getting my MK6 Fiesta in 2007 and currently owning a 2009 MK7 Fiesta, my rego has gone up $200.00. I don't see them fixing any of the roads I actually use...

Yep i get it...
Stop smoking thanks kcufasevigohw ....
Like others i wont mind paying , if i could see it going somewhere instead of a quick money grab...
Cars are at Same address , i was more suprised with the difference, there is about 140 KG difference between the AU & BA ...so RTA is charging almost $1 a Kg, seems excessive to me.....oh well.... may need to put the car on weight watchers

Yeah NSW prices. The most popular segment (1600kg - 2400kg) has gone up in price about 100 bucks. If you drive a smugmobile its cheaper.

That's a good idea for people with motor bikes... it's too cold to ride in winter here.
