Default GPS fitting in 2010 fiesta

Hi all just picked up a 2010 fiesta Zetec and I am wondering what you guys have done in regards to mounting the standard windscreen type GPS unit, The windscreen is so far away from the driver. Ant Ideas ?

I mount my external GPS above the small screen on the dashboard.

I mount it on the windscreen with no problem. I have to lean forward to use the touchscreen, but it's not far and I avoid doing so when driving.

I have the TomTom for iPhone Car Kit and I mount it on the side window. It's within reach, is close so I can see it and can be angled perfectly. Not sure if it's legal though. I agree, the window has too steep a rake, but I can still mount it there, just is harder to use.
