So far so good for me. Had my 06 lx for nearly 3 months now with no issues. Great cars tho!

i think they're pretty good value. they're relatively simple cars with good handling and safety. Mine is 3 years old now and coming off lease. I'm buying it and keeping it as I have no reason to think it will cause me any grief to keep it for another few years. I've basically given it a 3 year test drive and am very happy.

G'day Mate.
What car are you coming out of?
I had a supercharged Statesman Caprice (which I loved) then went to a Prado (which I loved) and then bought this "little, bog standard, LS Focus, buzz box, thing" for my Daughter (who I love) . . . . but I kept the car for myself 'cause the Focus is a cracker!!!
Only had one little (current) issue in the 12months otherwise this thing gives me a smile like a split watermellon everytime I drive it.

I've got an AT LT (08) Focus for 1 year now, no problem EXCEPT the one originally from delivery: rough gear shifting at low speed. They fixed it but I'm not 100% satisfied. Pros: good manouver, strong engine. Cons: sluggish gear shifting, lot of road noise, bumpy.

Once I changed the OEM Tyres, the road noise dropped drastically!

liangmike, I've gotta say that you should just take a focus for a test drive and you'll see how good it is. I had been looking around at some rice boxes but the handling of my 03 LR is awesome. my parents have an sv6 but i find it more enjoyable driving the tiny focus. I have had the focus for around 4 months now and it's had (nearly) no problems whatsoever. The only annoying thing is if you get an st170 or zetec you need to use 95 ron or above. besides that GET A FOCUS!!!

I have always wanted an r34 skyline on completion of my education but now im leaning towards an 09 focus rs... seriously once you drive it yyoull fall in love with it.

just to add
if you buy LS onwards focus you will need to use 95ron or above, sometimes ours will ping on 98 ron. But when the compression ratio is close to 11:1!
but most newer cars need 95.

we love our LS focus.
Drive it like its stolen!!!
the engines are strong
handles well.
great on fuel even when you flog it a bit. I rarely get into the 8's
it is a bit rough but we run 17's will low profiles, but if you are a "driver" you will like it.
The LS feels quite roomy, but i sit in the drivers seat most of the time.
