Default Crazy Driver

Hi guys,

Just needed to Vent. Had an interesting event happen tonight.

On the way home along a relatively major road, me and SeedyWagon were behind a Hyundai Excel and an XF Panel Wagon with a trailer.

We didnt see what the Hyundai did, but it was full of people and had green P plates up. All of a sudden, the XF started swerving all around the road, and attempted to ram the Hyundai with the trailer!

After he failed that time he started cutting in and out infront of the Hyundai, and then took another crack at hitting them with the trailer. This time he hit them. HARD. Managed to take off the front left panel.

After he did this, the Hyundai tried to get away by turning right down Canterbury road, only to whilst waiting for the arrow get hit again by the XF only thing time, he was using the actual car.

After that, the XF did a crazy massive U Turn (mind you this is on a one way street, Dorset road for those who know) and came back again! Hit the Hyundai once again.

At this point the light turned green, and the XF took off infront of the Hyundai. And once again... attempted to ram the Hyundai again. This time he clipped it, and tried to run away.

SeedyWagon and I followed the pair to get the rego off the XF, and called 000.

We lost them when they ducked down a side street and sped off.

After all this happened we went down to the local police station and made a statement.

After this was all done I needed a cigarette.

What a random cruise.

Anyway Rant over.

Edit: Forgot to mention the XF had a massive company Logo across the car. I wont say what company it is but the stupid idiot has the craziest fit of road rage ever, and all the time he had a company logo splayed across his car!

That was the craziest I've ever seen in my life!
IF you live in the bayswater/ferntree gully area, and notice a white XF welding company van with a trailer, take notice carefully.

There's a lesson to be learnt from this experience and that is, for alot of you ford nuts who love your cars, damage incurred from a lunatic like this is NOT worth your life, High-tail it out of there as soon as you can if faced with this situation!

Cannot stress this enough, becoming a paraplegic due to a massive crash caused from road rage is not worth a hundred written-off pride and joys.

Ouch. Drugs and alcohol can to strange things to people. I heard of a similar story that unfortunatly ended in death. Years back I was told of 3 young lads who cut off another car in their 4wd. The other car proceeded to ram and chase them for 40 mins or so until he sent them into a ditch, killed 2 of the boys and injured another. The man was found to be a serial killer and was subsequently jailed. It goes to show you never know who is on the roads, what they're on, how they can react.. Suppose you flip the bird to one of these psychos? It could be devastating..

he didnt collect anyone and it was on a saturday night with not too many people on the road.

i was on the other side of the road heading north

Summed up very well!
There is nothing cowardly about high-tailing it away from these people, they are the cowards who use a 2 tonne deadly weapon against you. Please do NOT take it upon yourself to get back at these lunatics, you just never know who you're dealing with. What happens when they pull a firearm out on you?

Exactly. I've seen a couple of people who come out on top of such road rage incidences, but they where lucky and probably shouldn't have done it anyway, as they just look like idiots anyway. They could well have been on the recieving end of an XF pano...yeah not for me.

These days you can just be looking, checking traffic etc, and catch the eye of someone who decides to ram you or chase you. Rare but it does happen.

Agreed! It really only takes one incient to put it all into perspective. Whether it happen to you or you see it happen.

Take this for instance:
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,,24650206-1243,00.html

Getting your "revenge" for someone ****ing you off on the road could end up in far more tradgedy then just your ego being stood on.

You did the right thing by reporting to Plod.

No excuse for anything like this no matter what either had done. I have witnessed similar first hand and in some cases worse right in front of me.

That's shocking. I bet the people in the excel were packing themselves.

I've been on the receiving end of idiots trying to ram my car. It's not fun at all. Luckily, having a powerful(ish) car helps in the situations, I just found the highway and pinned it to the nearest police station.

Obviously the guy in this XF is a complete nutter and shouldn't be on the roads, BUT, justice is very rarely served to these kind of peoples. I can see the headline now...

Reading this, all I can think of is the movie 'Duel'. I guess you run into some weird units wherever you go, not much different to the guys who go to bars solely for the fights.

ive seen some weird acts of road rage around adelaide, one that comes to mind happened to myself.

i was driving down flaxmill rd down south when i went around a roundabout and got cut off by a magna, with 3 guys in the car i gave them a small toot of the horn to let them know they cut me off, then driving back to drop my gf's friend off a home they slammed there brakes on and got next to my car.

they then started to swerve at my car each time getting closer and closer, i kept my cool and on the 4th time they where about to swerve i swerved in the opposite direction so they didnt hit my car, but they then became more angry and speed off and came to a halt trying to bloke both lanes with there car there was a small amount of room behind there car so i downshifted back to 2nd foot flat and got out of there.

ive never seen anyone actually ram someones car on purpose though, someone must of had an extremely bad day to go to those extremes

I've been in the same situation myself, except I was in a Lancer and the guy trying to Ram us was in a smallish-Truck (also with a logo on it!)

Good on your for calling the police, but don't expect much. Nothing ever amounted from our report, makes you wonder why you bothered wasting a couple of hours to have your statement taken.

Ha the statement didnt take that long. Seedy and I were only in the cop shop for around 10 minutes. It wasnt a full blown statement, it was just sort of informing them, and giving our details as well as the rego plates of the car that was doing it.

Oh well. That was our good deed for the week.

Only to have Seedy's car rear ended today in Lilydale. Gotta Love it

This is why I keep a bat in my car now, just in case. Twice now I've had the try hard hero confront me, once because I gave a small beep since this guy infront almost reversed straight into me, second time because I apparently "cut" this off - he was miles down the road when I pulled out but since he must of been flying I ended his high speed cruise. Lot's of swearing exchanged and thats it, lucky the first time the fiance was with me and she didn't want to see anything escalate, second time was also lucky since I just picked up my sisters freshly panel beated/painted Focus. If it happens again not sure how I will react but what I do know is I would love to give some of these morons a big taste of thier own medicine, god knows how many people they try confront and the way I see it one massive beat down will make them think twice next time. I know the best thing to do is leave it but who knows, my old man always taught me never ever push or harrass anyone, but if your on the recieving end feel free to dish it out 10 fold.

Unfortunatly if you dish out a flogging to someone who nearly backed into you....the cops won't care that your old man said it was ok...they'll arrest you.
