Cool I'm watching it right now!

: What a "fecal" program.:
Comparing the "test drive" to "Top gear" or "Fifth gear" they seem to be so amateur and incompetent.
And the 30 min special on the FG Falcon is disappointing.

The car is beautiful and looks great on TV but the guys form Test Drive just could show it!

What do you think ?

The program was showing the cars from a buyers perspective. Topgear just thrashes the guts out of them.

i think the test drive show is more based on the average car buyer, not so much the enthusiast, but more for the average joe, who would want the basic new car facts...safety,handling,fuel consumption, comfort etc

& i thought the show did it nicely without complicating it.

But i think top gear would be great to show off the FPV range! but then again they would probaly put the F6 againsnt an F18 Hornet for a comparison

Much as I see your point i would like to see the Top Gear team put it to the test especially the power each model of the FG will make or do. Eventually someone will thrashes it it might as well be the Top Gear team

I've pretty much seen every episode of Test Drive and they have never once made a negative comment about anything, its not that sort of show, all they want to do is highlight a products good points. Its not meant to rival TopGear obviously.

In the end it turned out to be a great way for Ford to advertise the car, they did a good job of going through all the cars features. Works much better than the actual ads Ford came up with for the FG.

It was a good show, although they focused mainly on the G6E.

yeah i watch it not a bad insight into the new FG's, though wasnt much on the rest of the range just the G6ET. they did show it off pretty well, and most of the features too, hopefully this show might get some more people interested in going to the ford dealer and taking one for test drive

now i not from Vic but where is ford proving ground i want to go there with my BA lol

Agreed, it would be better to watch than a salesman's spiel. I'd like to see how it rates around a track on their time board.

"Test Drive" is just like "The Car Show" only it features more products than just cars. It is essentially a big ad or an infomercial. It's not suppposed to be a Top Gear rival.

It would have been nice for them to cover the other models a little bit, rather than just the G6ET. But it wasnt too bad, I liked the bit with her demonstrating the HMI and it features. But they didn't really give their impression of what it was actually like to drive IMO.

And on a side note, where are the new Falcon ads? I am still yet to see one on TV and I have been watching solidly from 11:30 this morning until a few minutes ago. Admittedly most of it was during the V8 Supercars which probably didnt feature any ads for a couple of reasons; Ford wasnt a sponsor, and the fact that Ford are trying to ditch the performance/race image for their new advertising campain.

Did Ford pay for the program ? Not one negative comment on the whole show.

Hardly what I'd call a 'review', and embaressing to watch.

I don't know how that Alle chick still has a job after what I saw last season. I don't know if anyone remembers, but she was testing the Focus XR5T and talking about the dials and dash etc. When it came to the boost guage she said, "I dunno about this "boost guage" tho, I think it's supposed to tell you how much "boost" you have, but it just seems to be stuck on 1 - I think it's broken" The boost guage reads in BAR YOU STUPID MORON, 1 BAR OF BOOST, MY GOD.
