Default 98fairmont's ghia interior conversion - with pics *56k beware*

Hi guys

Some of you may recall (and thanks for the help and advice, btw) that I purchased a Ghia interior for my Fairmont a couple of weeks back.

Anyway, I picked it up last Saturday about lunchtime... and with my old man's help, had it in by 11pm. It was a surprisingly easy process (aside from a small hiccup with the electric mirror switch) and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Fairmont already had the wiring for the electric driver's seat (woohoo!) and front courtesy lamps.

Only real problem I have is that inexplicably there didn't seem to be any wiring present for the rear courtesy lamps so those remain unlit for now.

Haven't had the chance to take any pics until today, but here they are! Needless to say I am absolutely stoked with the results. I went to town on the seats with some leather cleaner and they feel and smell fantastic.

Shameless plug: I have a whole bunch of goodies out of the old interior up for sale in the for-sale section, including a complete velour trim, a leather t-bar shifter and a woodgrain & chrome t-bar surround

^^^ this seat doesn't really have a yellow tinge, it's just my sh!tty camera

Haha yeah, just a tad!

The velour was really comfy, but these are totally different again. The back seat is like sitting on a leather lounge. The leather can be a little cold when you get in though at this time of year (I imagine I'll have the reverse problem in summer). I'm sure I will struggle through just fine, though ;)

Looks like it has come up really well, get yourself some Meguiars Dash and Trim Foam and Gold Class Leather Conditioner and go nuts on it, it will bring it up 110%.

Is your handbrake on the whole way? It looks to be sitting up a bit high.

The AU Ghia/Lane interiors (s1 and 2) are some of the nicest Ford interiors ever. Looks great!

Cheers guys, yeah the handbrake is on the whole way. Should it be lower? (It's always been like that!)

Looks lovely! And the handbrake ideally should only come up around 8 cliks. To adjust it, there is a 10mm nut on the handbrake mechanism (there should be access through a small slit in the handbrake cover). If that's already adjusted all the way down, then the handbrake needs adjusting at the shoes (inside the discs).
BUT...if it still works well at that height, then leave it, until it doesn't work, then adjust it.
