Default What is this 95 LTD worth?

I am thinking of buying a 1995 LTD (not the older type model like NA's).
Unsure on k's, but its around the 200-250,000km mark (again I am not definate).
It is in imaculate condition, maroon in colour, 1 owner, premium sound (stacker, subwoofer, etc)
The car is a 5.0L v8

I am about to seal the deal of $4000 for it
No rego, rwc
but I am sure it would pass a rwc staright away or after maybe tyre changes and maybe a windscreen replacement.

is it worth it?

abit scared of buying a V8 with our petrol prices..

Mate of mine picked up a pretty clean DF LTD with about 160,000kay for $4000 last week ... not a mark on the outside and paint is in good nick ... had 10 months rego on it as well from memory.

LPG conversions work well on these as well.

Cheap luxury indeed.

Yea I saw a few 6cyl fairlanes (95-97 years) for around that price...all in spotless condition, 1 even had gas on it...but all are 6cyls, and with very high k's (around 300-400,000)...abit much I think.

honestly, i wouldnt have a 6cyl one, (unless you plan modding it and putting in a manual.... they're just to big of a car to go for a 6 unless its got a bit of power......)

chuck it on gas, they're not that bad on fuel to begin with though

thats not a bad price, try and knock it down a little if you can but i'd pay that for a good one..

Why does everyone whinge about the 8? They're pretty much the same on fuel as the 6. And having driven both 4.0 and 5.0 Fairlanes, the 5.0 craps all over them.

speeding and acceliration is not a consern...although it would be quite nice to get something with abit of power...but then again, wont be nice to loose my license for the 3rd time.

Only reason i want it is because I have just sold my Maxima to my brother, which I love, but he needed it more than me, and I am after something with luxury, maxima was very nice car, very quick.
And cops didnt bother with it.
Thats why I would want the LTD...you could probably buy a XR6 for that money (or not far off), but cops would be pulling me over every corner which I dont need.

My dads ex company car 5.0L LTD went for $3k in 2003 with 175,000km. It was bordeaux and in pretty good nick. He still wishes he bought it but he didn't find out how much it went for until it was gone...

Air cond running, full boot & 5 people.

There is a few Fairlanes, LTD's, fairmont ghia's, etc around for the 4k mark.
Saw a EF Fairmont ghia with mods (lowered, 17's, exaust, mp3) for like $2500!!!
E series are so damn cheap now!

last year I bought a 1996 ex cab for $1000! LOL!

i brought my 95 nf fairlane 5.0lt with 180k at auction for $5500 (stock wheels-no tint) almost a year ago so for that car and that price is dam good .
petrol useage is good the misses drives a 97 el wagon and uses more than what i do.now she wants one.
go the v8 ,6's are to small a motor for a large car and forget towing behind a 6 even a trailer they struggle. nothing beats the sound of a nice 8..

True, but they tend to be alot more reliable so you don't need the parts as often.

Mate, I'm no great authority but look at it this way. If you love your car and love driving, you won't give a **** about petrol costs in comparison.

If I gave a crap about petrol costs, I'd buy a smart car, wee in the petrol tank and off I go!

An 11 year old LTD in good nick for 4000 is very good.

If you've closed the deal, then good idea!

8 Cylinder on any Fairlane is the ONLY way to go IMO.
