Hi guys
I need some help with fitting a new fuel filter on my AU wagon. Its the type that has a threaded pipe one end and the clip type the other. I have removed the filter ( the clip broke when i was taking it out to fit the new clip supplied with the new genuine filter) My problem is i cant fit the new clip into the how. is there a trick i need to know? Any help would be apriciated Scott |

ok Just I have found out the answer.
There are 2 types of clips 1. The white clip that comes with the genuine filter AFG60MC and ryco filter Z528 2. small black one. ( this is the one i needed ) this one comes with a valvoline filter VF36 |

I've been caught out by this today.
No one seems to have a filter with a small clip. I'm yet to try Ford, as they're closed until Tuesday. Why is there a mixture! |

I had the same problem with my AU2 sedan.
I had a genuine motorcraft. I had purchased the double threaded filter I was assured fitted-then had to swap it. after much issues I salvaged a clip from a 1999 AU sedan fuel pump hose.

after I got a replacement clip I had to replace the hose due to small leak. so check.
inside the connector is an oring that had torn. some of the hoses I raided the oring had expanded out of shape. the clip fits aftermarket replacement part.

So Ford don't sell the little clip?
What are the replacement options? A steel line from an el or something, matched with a thread both ends filter? You'd have to drop the tank to replace the line? |

You can buy the conectors and use normal fuel hose.
the hard nylon like pipe is much better-but I havnt seen this available. I use a similar hose on industrial machines but lower pressure. My AU wagon has fuel tank removed so I cant check. the sedan has 2 hoses from the fuel tank sender about 500mm long.. think one had a different angle on one version.
