Hmm...battery I have in the WB ute is an old Century which was starting to get a bit sad in the Celica. It's got a date on it of 2001. It goes flat if it's left sit for a month or so, but works just fine if vehicles is used regularly enough.

Modern batteries are a lot better, and charging systems are a lot more efficient than they were.

I put an Optima Blue Top in my GT-P not long after I bought it (new in 2006), still going.

Optima Red-Top in the XB GT in 2006 and still going strong. Pretty good considering that it has gone 6 months with no driving or charging a number of times over the years.

the battery in my VX commodore is an NRMA unit and I have the receipt for it and its 2005 and still going strong. who would have thought that.
Also have a delcor thats 8 years old that was used in all my bombs and now its in the boat and after a charge in winter it lasts all summer.
