Those guys at Top Gear are nuts...you see them sliding cars on saltwater beaches in probably 150mm of water, then they punt a $3m supercar down a dirt road sideways!

If it's a free drive and you don't have to pay the repair bills (and it's not your mates car)....
Then drive it like you stole it! :sm_headba

P.S The last line is a quote from the "How to drive a Rental Car Handbook".

top gear didn't put it down a dirt road sideways.

bugatti did it for their own photographic purposes.

very nice car to drive, by the way...

After 10 years in production the final one has been built

http://www.caradvice.com.au/338453/f...yed-in-geneva/

I am surprised it was in production for this long and 450 were sold. That is also impressive.

Wow, $1.5 billion dollars worth.

One hell of a car but today is well and truly yesterdays news compared to the Agera R and LaFerarri etc. They just leave a Veyron for dead. Excited to see what Bugatti are going to come up with next.

No they don't. The Agera R and LaFerrari do not have a higher terminal speed than the Veyron.

Of course the Veyron is still the top speed champ but they way the new generation of hyper cars go about their business make the Veyron look a little slow. Its slower down the quarter than the new P1 and LaFerrari, then watch this Agera spank it rolling on http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qj3Oo-_jecg 4wd still shifts it off the line quickly but it gets caught long before it can unleash its full potential. The Agera R will beat a Veyron to 200mph by 5secs.

the big difference between the Veyron and the others is.. that it has all of this performance.. AND its pure luxury inside and smooth/easy to drive at any speed.

The new one is to be rumoured to pack 1100kw! so that will be interesting.. and to see what they can apply to a new car.

For info, the Veyron versus a Nissan R35 GTR on a 1/4 drag strip.

10.175 / 139mph

Probably good for a high 9 as the dudes reaction time sucks.

For your info, the Veyron was designed for maximum speed, not maximum acceleration. A 20 year old McLaren F1 will out accelerate a Veyron.

Adding to that, it was designed to go fast, very fast whilst wrapping its occupants in complete and utter luxury.
Design and materials used are completely bespoke. Even the tyres are hand made by Michelin.
Reading just about every review of the car indicates that no matter what speed you're traveling the car never feels uncomfortable.
It is a feat of human engineering.
Comparing its performance to a GT-R is naive and shows ignorance of its purpose.
