Default NU fairlane premium sound problem

First problem with my recently acquired NU Fairlane is the usual 6 CD in dash premium sound system not playing CD's and spitting them back out. I remember reading here somewhere about someone who fixes them but have been unable to find the thread. Any help steering me towards this member would be greatly appreciated.

I fixed mine by pulling it apart and resetting the drive gears. It seems they can skip a tooth or two from the drive sprocket to the CD trays under certain conditions, and once out of sync, obviously, they won't accept or play CDs.

Pull the casing off and then plug the unit back in and watch the mechanism run through it's boot up sequence and you'll see how it functions. Once you see how it draws and retracts each tray you should be able to see which drawer is out of sync. Then it's just a matter of persuading the drive sprocket and tray back into sync. It doesn't take much to make the teeth hop out of sync so it's not too hard to pressure them to hop back into line.

Thanks for the responses. I spoke to Fadi at ASL and he advised he would supply a changeover unit for $250 or if I wanted mine fixed, which I prefer, just to send it down and they'll ring me when they diagnose the problem.
I will pull it out and have a look at the mechanism as you suggested Bushbasher and hopefully rectify the fault myself.
