I remember this. Skaife got out of his car and was fist pumping the air, and as Ingall drove past he pretended to swerve and run him over, lol. Then as Ingall went past the HSV pit-crew he gave them the Bird, something like that.

Just reminded me how good looking the BA Bodywork looked in V8 supercar format.

I remember Skaiffe went to the stone brothers pit crew and went nuts at them too.

There was a time when I couldn't stand Skaiffe, but then when Ingall won the supercars season years later I remember skaiffe wen't and shook his hand and congratulated Ingall on his win and I realised that Skaiffe wasn't as arrogant as I first thought.

It's pretty amusing though, considering the XR8 next year will be reborn with the same spec engine as the FG GT, could you imagine being a HSV owner forking out all that money on a brand new GTS, then pulling up to the lights next to a FH XR8 and then sitting side by side all the way to 100 and beyond
Even more embarrasing would be the lower spec variants of the VF in HSV's stable getting whopped by a factory XR8.

This was back when I found the V8 Supercars entertaining, and would watch as many of the races as I could. Nowadays I only watch Bathurst. This little outburst by Skaife was one of the highlights, I remember this fondly!

I have that time every time he commentates V8 Supercars.

Cold tires / Freight train / Skillfull driving by Tander / reminding the viewers of very basic things seems to be all he can do.

never had much time for Ingall ... Enforcer? ok, if enforcer means 'gets impatient so punts the car in front off the track' ...

Skaife didn't exactly give him 'racing room', and Rusty was WELL past the 'B' pillar.
'Crowding' (i.e. Skaife pushing Rusty's BA off the track) is now an offence.......
Are you a HRT man???

My wife and I were on the same plane as Skaife coming back from Sydney the year he retired, when we were at baggage collection I noticed him standing there as well, I was all dressed in my FPR gear and we went up to him to congratulate him on his retirement and wished him well, he was more then the gentleman at this stage and thanked us and talked to us as if we were wearing HRT gear.

He was very teary as well at one point.

There were some photoshopped pics of the whole thing going around the forum at the time of Skaife holding a Ford flag, good for a laugh if anyone has them...
