Default New Colorado ?comparos tests

anyone found or read any comparos for the new colorado yet. All ive seen is silly rants focusing on one strong point..the towing capacity...and thats it. I just cant believe how many of these things have been sold...im thinking it has to be verrry good. im not even sure it has a 5 star safety rating. I spose looks are subjective but i dont think it looks tuff at all.
id be very interested in how it goes v the ranger amarok and the hilux and navara

God I would hate to tow 3.5 tonne with that thing. It would be unbearable, not to mention hardly move up a hill, and the fuel consumption would be horrendous.

Yes the new colorado has earned a 5 star ANCAP rating.

Ive had the chance to have a good look over a top of the range colorado and also a quickish drive and i must say the Ranger/BT50 leave it for dead in interior presentation etc.
Performance wise (auto V's auto) they feel pretty similar but on road dynamics is a big win to the Ranger, BT50 and Amarok.

Looks are subjective but i reckon the new Isuzu Dmax (the colorado's twin) looks better than the GM product but i still rate the Ranger (especially in XLT/Wildtrak models) and the top of the range Amarok as the lookers of the new bunch.

What is it with the "american" truck styling???

I dont understand why these utes are just getting bigger and bigger to the point where they are mini-trucks and you need a step ladder to load them up!

Look at the difference between the orginal Ford Ranger and the current model which has morfed into an F series truck!

Why would anyone consider a colorado, the dmax is a better deal and as for the class leading towing capacity, doesnt the current navara have a similar towing capacity in the current model which has been around for many years?

Current D40 Navara has a 3000kg towing capacity which is same as the old model Ranger/BT50 had.

The only issue with the new Dmax is its still running the old previous models engine and is mated to either a 5 speed manual (same as new colorado) or 5 speed auto gearbox. It does look better than the colorado though.

The simple reason is the most popular models are the Dual Cabs, have you ever tried to squeeze into the back of one of the old generation Ranger or BT--50's? As a medium height bloke, I found it extremely uncomfortable. The same goes with the old generation Hilux and the rest of the pack. The new models actually have rear seats that are usable. I've sat in the back of my PX Wildtrak for a couple of hours and was able to exit and not have to unfold like a rusty swiss army knife!

And compared to an F-series, the new Ranger is still significantly shorter (by 530mm) and narrower (137mm). The wheel base is 457mm shorter, so it may look a big F-series, its still quite small compared to one.

All the reviews i've read so far point to it being an inferior vehicle to the Ranger, BT50 and VW. These 3 moved the game on by a whole generation in terms of the way they drive, whereas the Colorado drives like the old ones did.

And what are you basing this on? Have you actually driven one, or is it just a figment of your imagination? I think its the latter.

I read, maybe care sales/carsguide that has very floaty suspension, not as nice to sit in, inferior plastics used. They compared Hilux, Ranger, BT50, Amarok, Colarado.

The new Colorado is uglier than the BT50. There I said it and I stand by it!

Even the factory bullbar doesn't make it look any better.

I'm basing it on stats and specs compared to a D40 STX550 Navara.

Seen a Colorado near work, not bad I thought.... Then saw a ranger (the large version with the bells and whistles) and Id take one of those over the Holden in a heartbeat.
