Default Shannons Insurance - Windscreen

Has anyone here claimed the free windscreen?

Does this affect the no claim or rating?

Who decides if the Windscreen should be replaced? Mine has a decent stone chip plus lots if scratches ( 15 years old)

Does it need to be insurersed as a daily or can occasional 3-4 days per week use this on thief policy too?

Thanks in advance!

I'm with Shannons and have been wondering about this myself. I've found them to be most helpful when I've called about anything, I'm actually going to ring them next week or so to find out.

Cheers,

I used Shannons to replace the windcreen in my Honda DC2R recently. No policy increase that I can see. The R has a very hard to get stock thinner than DC2 windscreen which meant all up it was about $900 worth of work.

They didn't need to inspect it and an invoice from the repairer was enough for them to pay up for it.

Havent read the fine print on my shannons policy, but when i joined up they said that windscreen replacement is free and doesnt affect anything (only allowed one replacement per year).

As for who decides? If the screen is illegal (ie chips in drivers direct field of vision or cracked) then it needs replacing...

I'm with NRMA and same deal. Had some jerkoff screwdriver out my window about 6 months ago, they replaced the glass for free without an NCB hit and no form of excess. If I had the damage the screwdriver had done on the door frame repaired, different story.

Default I work there

Hi Jim, I work there , every vehicle on comprehensive insurance gets a free windscreen or glass claim per a year and it doesn't effect your no claim bonus and you don't pay a excess. give claims a call have a chat and they will point you in the right direction

I have used the free screen fr my car too. Was very easy, I didn't even have to speak with Shannons. O'Briens did it all for me.

No increase in premium etc either.

Thought Id dig this back up.

Im with shannons for my XB, and the windscreen has plenty of stonechips etc. It would be nice to have it replaced for free, but in my experience nothing is ever free, you always end up paying for it somewhere. Even though they say it doesnt affect your no claim bonus, surely they would bump up the premium for next year?

I know a couple of people have said it hasn't, anyone else got experience?

I've been with Shannon's since 2003 and have had a new windscreen almost every year, and the cost of the policy hasn't increased, nor has my no claim bonus changed so happy days.
