Evening all,
Just saying hello - long time lurker on these forums, but of late in the Fiesta forum. Last year I bought a new Econetic Fiesta - as a commuter from Ballarat to Melbourne. Since bought another house in Melbourne, so the commute got shortened somewhat. So, after 36000k in 10 months, have traded the Fiesta in and bought Focus CC. I also have a Saab Turbo convertible to be sold, so this plan was to replace 2 cars with one - also liberating some garage space. Not even 2 weeks in, have done near on 3k in the Focus, some roof down which has been nice, plus an unexpected trip to Adelaide and back. Thoughts so far? I love it! Of course, the adjustment from the Diesel to the Petrol has been, er... expensive, but that was expected

Welcome to the monkey house...
I don't know anyone else with a cabriolet. From what I hear, you need to keep the gearbox services up to the mark, because the extra weight of the roof mechanism works it a bit harder than a "normal" auto Focus.

Are gearbox problems common on Focus'? The roof adds 170kgs to the car, which is say 3 people's weight, so I hope anyone who uses a Focus hatch with people in it do not have gearbox problems?

I couldnt imagine the roof weight making any difference, it would have been tested well in excess of 170kgs+
Nice car, they look great when the top is down. My mum had a black Astra Convertible, about a 2005 model I think, and I must admit to having some fun in that.
