Awesome! been waiting for a long time for this, im having terrible issues with mine just resetting itself for no reason. Sometimes repeated resets as soon as it boots.

I just have one question, is the data on the memory card safe during this upgrade?

I would assume so, but don't take my word for it. If you're worried, perhaps remove the SD card?

As far as I can tell it just updates the actual firmware/software on the phone itself, I can't see any reason it would look at the SD card while doing so. In fact, I just used MyBackup to copy over all my SMS/MMS messages & call logs to the SD card with the hope of restoring them once the update is done.

Yeah, just finished to update!

Weird having the phone back to stockish settings without my customisation but I'll fix that soon enough ;)

Didn't touch the SD card by the way.

I have the same problem with my HTC HD2. Downloaded the upgrade from HTC and its nearly bigger then the total memory on the phone.....

I'm going to the market to reinstall the apps I had, how do I tell them to install to SD, seems they all want to go to the normal internal memory? Arrghh this was the main reason I was hanging for the upgrade, was to get apps onto SD card!

Edit: I just found how to manage applications, there's a move to SD card button, but greyed out?

Not all apps can be moved to sd. They only can be moved if the app has been programmed to allow it.

Thats why I have "rooted" the phone you can read more about here.

There is a mod you can do that will default apps to be installed on an SD card. The caveats, the phone needs to be rooted to do so and if the app is a service or widget, it'll bomb when the SD card is unmounted.

I'm sure in time apps will be updated so that they'll have the option to move to SD card eventually.
