Default XR6 VCT exhaust options

Hey guys

its time for a new cat back exhaust or I might even go for extractors as well
but I'm wondering whats the best way to go for performance

2.5 inch single system as I've done before
3 inch single

which mufflers and extractors would you all recommend that wont take power away from the vct engine?

thanks a million

Pacmaker 4480s work better than the 4495s on the VCT donk. 2.5" system is all you need, but 3" would be suitable too. You want straight through mufflers to limit restrictions and I'd go for a reasonable size centre muffler (18" to 24" long) and a rear resonator (especially if it's auto).

i've used magnaflow mufflers for years , on 8's & 6's, very good , also flowmaster mufflers are good , depends on how much you want to spend

Is that on a VCT 6? Excellent result (or optimistic dyno)!

Yeah VCT mate. Last one I went to was 137rwkw and since then I have done the air induction setup
so is breathing a lot better. And the other cars there on the day ran the sort of figures I would have expected
them to. There was a BAXR8 there that ran 199rwkw which is about spot on so I believe the
dyno is there is as accurate as any roller is.
Here is the dyno sheet, ignore the date as it was only about 3 weeks ago.

Definitely recommend the 4480s over the 4499s. Better suited to the VCT set up. I mated them with a high flow cat and 2.5inch redback system and was happy. Little drone as well if that worries you.

Cheers,

Ian
