Default So.. my girlfriend just bought an XR4!

so before you all ask, here's a pic of the beast while she took it for a test drive... (no thats not her in the drivers door )

she wants to do a few mods to it over time.

its already got tint...

so some sick numberplates,
exhaust
lowerage
and stereo.

im obviously a falcon man, so not really sure where to start with this little pocket rocket.

any off the shelf catback systems around??? im pretty sure king spings make springs for the fiestas so whereever we can get them

and whats the deal with the stereo, can you swap out that big thing in the dash and get a aftermarket surround for it or are we stuck with it trying to incorporate a sub/amps etc?

any help would be great. just like it is to drive. very quick for a little car. i am slightly jealous

i should add, not real interested in just banging a cannon on either... she's got a cannon on her starlet atm and whilst it sounds alright its just hilarious

A couple of aussie forums about Henri. Their addresses I can't remember, will check when I'm home. Also the uk have some ST forums, good resource for the XR4.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA i know right!!!! definately got a lot of poke for a little 2 litre and the handling makes me green with envy... i think the inevitable upgrade to a XR6T will have to come sooner rather than later for me

For starters get the flexi changed over on the exhaust, and get a decent CAI, that will free up some needies....

Go Eibach springs if you can wait for them, Order them from over seas or use Kings like I have in my LX.

Their are a multitude of stereo upgrades, register here www.ukfiestanetwork.com for much much more!!

Nice looking car these, I reckon I could be seriously tempted if they came in a 5 door - the 3 door is just a little bit **too** small for me.

A mate has one and you can just chuck it at roundabouts - awesome fun!

Get an XR5T, bloody brilliant ;)

The XR4's are a real go kart from what I've heard.

Hey Henri + GF,

Welcome to Fez Land. Check out fordfiestaxr4.com for more info on mods and other stuff but, i would recommend the Best Mufflers Flexi Pipe and a CAI to get the car breathing more easily. With both you will feel and hear improvement. The overal piping is pretty good quality and size so everyone usually replaces the backbox. Lowering you can go past Eibach Springs. Direct from UK to door under $250 bucks. Stezza wise yes you can get a double or single din facia. Speakers are 5x7.

Hope that gives you guys a heads up in the right direction.

Best colour combo there IMO... not that I'm biased ;)

As MISTA FIESTA said, join up at fordfiestaxr4.com and have a look at the mods people are doing there. Not a lot of support for the XR4 in Australia, most people buy parts from Europe.

There is a grommet in the firewall on the passenger side that will allow you to bring the power in behind the glovebox. I ran 8 gauge under the door sill then up next to the seat and into the rear. I didn't have to pull too much apart but I think if you want bigger cable it will involve more deconstruction.

time to :update: with some pics i posted in the show and shine section too, but who cares!

welll i had some time on the weekend to take the girlfriend and her new car out to get a few pictures.... so here is a few.

i just use a dodgy Canon P&S... took a lot of work in photoshop to tidy images up (NOT THE CAR lol) to get them looking good. most of them were grainy as all hell and will still probably look grainy on some monitors :( i need a DSLR :(

anyway, enjoy, Performance Blue XR4 Fiesta, stock as a rock and she is absolutely stoked with it "except it needs those spring things that make it lower and a exhaust" but for the time being she's over the moon!

They're a cute little thing & they look great Great shots too, not bad for a dodgy canon lol. Congrats to your missus on the buy. Nice colour combo.

the stripes are meant to go all the way down, maybe the cars had a rear ender, or as i found that those stripes are very easy to scuff and tear when loading stuff into the boot. so maybe the previous owner pulled them off and never got round to fixing them.
