Default What could this be?

hey guys, I've had this problem for a while now and it's getting to the point where it's driving me nuts. Basicly, a lot of the time when I'm just cruising on light throttle, the car feels like it leans out and gets a massive flat spot, then all of a sudden the power kicks back in again. It does this all the time on and off.

The weird thing is that when I floor it and go wide open throttle, the car is fine and revs out nicely without any flat spots.

At first I thought it was a fuelling problem because the Air/Fuel gauge showed LEAN whenever the car flat spotted. Since then I've changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel reg and injectors but the problem is still there.

So now I think it could be something to do with the ignition system. I had the problem with the old EA engine and now with the AU engine its still there, and I did transfer the old dizzy to the new engine so do you think it could be the dizzy? It just seems weird that it's fine on WOT and it doesn't miss at idle, infact it idles smooth enough to balance a 50c piece on the rocker cover.

Anyone got any suggestions, i'd love to fix it before tommorrow nights cruise! ;)

Try a different ECU, they sometimes go faulty, so I assume no codes are being spat out by the computer.

Also check the TPS, they have alot to do with throttle (funny that).

ok it's not the TPS or the ECU. I swapped them both today and the problems still there.

It's REALLY sh1tting me now :( Any other suggestions? I don't want it to get like Micks car where I have to replace everything one by one lol ;)

Could it be the rotor button? Mine had a smilar problem, and the gap was too big between the button and the contact points in the distributor cap. Bashed it out with a hammer, made sure it wouldn't actually hit anything, and it seems to have fixed it.
