well I don't know why buy my oil pressure doesn't go above 2 bars. and lowest it goes is 1 bar.. always sits around there. I'm not too worried because it seems fine but maybe the oil pump in my engine is a bit stuffed... wouldn't surprise me because the sump is majorly dented.

I might get a new oil pump and replace the sump one day... but I can't really be bothered... won't be an easy job

in the LTD my oil pressure warning light and buzzer comes on when im sitting at the lights. But as soon as i take off again its fine. Or if i turn the car off and then straight back on it coms back to normal, just above half.

I have heard that the sensors in the engines sometimes go a little "bung" but its nothing to worry about if it goes straight back up when your driving

To allay your fears of low oil pressure Niko, why not have the oil pressure tested? Guages are fine but as they are an electrical item can be slightly out.

Do you use a Genuine Oil Filter when you do the change? Some filters are CHEAP rubbish and some have no non return valves. The oil sounds ok and I seriously doubt that the idle speed has much to do with it.

Early EA's did have Oil Pump trouble but I doubt that is REALLY your problem.

: i think you'll find with any car that as the revs increase so does the oil pressure... Like i said before, if its ok when driving then i wouldnt worry about it. If its still worrying you, get an oil pressure tester and plug it in to see exactly what it is.

Are you getting a horrible noise from the bottom end? No? She'll be right

(Maybe I should stop sticking to that ideology!)

well im not sure if this is right or not but mine sits on about 3/4 98% of the time except if im sitting at the lights then it flickers up a bit (sometimes into the red) but i haven't had any problems with it. my guess is the sender is acting up, anyways u guys' oil pressures seem low, what grade oil do you run? im using 20W50 atm because of the recent gasket problems
