Default I May as well Join the E-series club again!

G'day, boys! Nice to be posting in here again after the long absence!

Good news is that I will be rejoining the E-series owners club! and heres why:
Couple of days ago I was washing and polishing the Zetec in the garage. It rained for a day or so, so rather than dirty it i drove the olds XR6 for a bit.

AAAnyways, so finally a day or so later i've gone to reverse the tec out for a drive on a sunny day, and what pale green liquid is sitting undermeath the engine on the garage floor?? hahaha yeah.... :togo: greeat! So I let it go for a couple of days to see whather it could have been anything else but no, every morning it had sat overnight, the little turd had leaked its lime cordial all over the garage floor just a little at a time.

This morning I took it to Ford to get the THIRD CD unit put in after the first two were faulty, and let the consultant know about the coolant leaking. I got a call at around 1.00 telling me that the water pump has gone (at 20,000 km) and that it needs to stay overnight as he doesn't have the correct replacement belt for it. so there we go! Another two days without the car! I'm loving my E Series Falcon Fiesta Zetec!

I never really fully left you guys..... See youse on friday hahahaha....

-Danny

yeah makes it seem like theres not much point in upgrading to a later model ford if you're after something more reliable. hopefully its sorted out soon danny... at least you'll be getting better fuel economy than the falcons :P

Thing is, if it was an eseires the total fix-it-bill would be $3.95c and would take 35min, with all parts avalable at the drop of a hat

Not good Danny, at least you have a little thing called Warranty to take care of it instead of having to rely on wreckers bits.

Whats going on with the headunits? There's gotta be something wrong there - 3 busted units certainly isnt a coinkydink.

Damn I wish I knew that before i went and paid nearly $100 for a new pump, gasket and coolant, and then spent 4 hours changing it. :P lol

That's not good to here Danny, atleast ya don't have to fix it yourself.

Sell the infernal Zetec and find yourself a Gunmetal EF...oooh XR8! although an 8 with fuel prices these days would be a nightmare.

I miss your old machine Dan...she was a beauty! :

LOL Having driven and owned 2 E-series falcons, it was the first thing I worried about...

As Austin said. Least I have a warranty for the next 4 years (Longer than i'll have the car anyway) so scouring the wreckers for a cheap fix is not applicable! Thats what I like about it I dont have to worry about spending heaps to fix it cuz for now it's free!

I am Enjoying the "Infernal" Zetec, but I do miss the gorgeous EF I used to have!! Anyways the car is bak in the garage now, and the water pump and CD player are now fully functional.

Absolutely - warranty is awesome to have.

I sometimes miss my EF too, but a trip to the servo soon changes that.

Specially when the savings you make from LPG are offset by engine rebuild cost as a result of terminal timing chain failure.... :P hahaha
