Default Car takes a while to start and no top end pwr?

hey guys...

when my car has been sitting for an hour or so or more... it will crank for ages before it fires.. like an old ty car on gas (well i guess it is an old ty car.. BUT NO GAS)

anyway... when the car is warm it starts easier but still will crank more than it should before it fires..

once the car is running it is smooth however after 3000rpm or so the power seems to die off.. like if i dyno's it my peak ov the power curve would b at 3000rpm then just stay constant... the car will rev out to 5000 no probs but just doesnt have as much pull as it should

any ideas?

oh.. i have changed fuel pressure regulator.... and fuel pump to no avail...
thanks

mine was dying off after 3000 / 3500, and its been a while since i changed em, so i figured it couldnt hurt to do.

revs out smoothly now with no flatspotting... might be worth you checking

GDAY THERE
If you are confident pull the dizzy out and check for play in the shaft sounds alot like what happenned to my old man this week and yes he is an agrade mechanic with 40 yrs experience and he found that the shaft was worn (in a 89 ea fairmont ) and had rubbed against the wire inside the dizzy once replaced starts fine every time now

hope this helps

They should be cleaned at least every 100,000.
I did my ex-GF's at 70,000 so it would keep effiecient.

If you have done over 150,000 and you doubt they have been done, take them out and get them reco'd.
