Maybe we should all only ever have holidays here too. You don't have to only purchase Aus made items to be an Aussie.

Plastic Aussie car flags - to all the people out there that still have the flags attached to their vehicles, people the time is over, time to take them down.
Hope that doesn't make me un Australian. |

So many posts and I don't know where to start with my point of view.
I'm 5 generations Australian, have both arms tattooed, own 3 V8 falcons and am smart enough to know that there are idiots in every race. I refuse to get a Southern Cross tattoo as almost all i've seen are on twits. I'm also racist and some times write an individual off due to their appearance but I'm fair across the board as I would do the same to an "Aussie" When I'm overseas I'm ashamed of the public displays of other Australians and have been know to tell other "Aussies" to "Pull their head in" In closing, be tolerant of all or hate all equally (and be a bitter bastard.)

I drove to Melbourne and back from Saturday to Tuesday(car broke down in albury, woulda been home Monday) with my Aussie window flag from Australia Day. It's a little bent and some of the stitching is wearing but it made it and i'm all the more prouder for it. No idea where it was made but i don't really care. It's what it represents.
The WHOLE $2.50 i spent on it will stay in Australia, going into Franklins. After that i don't really care where my $2.50 goes, nor do i have any sort of control over it anyway so why should I bother caring?

I have a ute and like to drive with windows down, so the silly little flags wouldn't work

ahh regardless where they are made, your buying from a shop in Australia, the items will be through Australian importers so you are still giving Australians jobs.
you have to export/import to live in this day and age fact of life. btw last time I looked into it, Toyota actually had the most amount of local content of any of the Australian made (Camry/aurion) vehicles.
