Default life of the S1 brake booster

i need some advice guys, not sure where to go, i recently replaced the original S1 brake booster with that of an EL from a wrecker (exact same i was led to believe), anyway that one has now let go after being on the car only 2 or so months. I've heard that you can fit a series 2 with a bit of modification, not sure how hard that would be anyone willing to give me a bit of a run down?..or should i just bite the bullet and source another one from a wrecker? or buy new from fraud?

just about ready to kick this car, had nothing but problems with it!

mine went on me too... was advised that the S2/S3 fits, but requires 2 new mounting holes to be drilled into the Firewall...
