Compared to the American cars of the 60s/70s/80s, the Falcon was always a Medium sized design.

In the early 60's it was medium sized compared to the VW, but not as far as American made cars where concerned.

The Falcon was Fords compact model. The next step up in size was the mid-sized to full-sized Fairlane, then the full-sized Galaxie. Ford didn't make a sub-compact.

I think (know) it is my opinion.

I dont particularly like xa-c's,you do,and that is your personal choice, I am entitled to mine aswell.

The difference is that you generalised by saying that the car is "God" to Ford people. I consider myself a Ford guy, but I don't think the BA is anything special. I merely pointed out that I prefer XA-Cs.

This thread is flawed,Yes i think the BA/BF has been the most successful falcon ever, because it is not possible to gauge yet,how successful the FG falcon is.

Until the FG falcon has been in the market for longer,of course the BA/BF has been the most succesful, also are we basing its "sucess" on sales, vehicle package ......?

Tell me any late model that actually races??
The V8's are all hybrids...
Totally different to the road cars..
Have the track times got any quicker over the years ???
The race version has Watts link, solid rear axle, nothing like the road car...

BA is just a reskinned AU, so doesnt that make the AU the most successful car ever (runs and hides)

If that was indeed the case, (which thank god it's not) it would completely stuff up the theory of beauty only being skin deep then, wouldn't it?

Actually design wise the AU was a good car, just see how long it hung around and still could trumph other cars. If you ask me the FG seems to bring back small elements of AU.

It's not the case because it was only partially reskinned? The A,B & F series Falcon are clearly the one and the same, despite what the letters say.

Yeah, Love the factory turbos. Love the BA/BF shape over the FG falcon and Ford stepped in the right direction with the BA falcons. Apart from brake shudder problems my dads 03 Futura E-gas is flawless.

The AU3 is aging better than the B series.

The best looking B series doesn't look as good as the best looking AU.

The worst looking B series looks better than the worst looking AU.

The AU handles better, but the B series is faster and a better all round car.

Keeping in mind of the B series instant success it has open new horizons to previous models which have went unnoticed due to lack of any interest it didnt generate for whatever the circumstances might of been at the time and which the E-Series for example has displayed its capabilities to suit any persons needs in all aspects of owning a E-Series Falcon!
Post of the thread by far. The enthusiasm which the B series gave to Ford's long suffering fans was THE success.

FG will be a success too. For now, they haven't been too game to leave the BA stylings too much.

All other Falcons were great in their day, but now in the 21st century, this isn't their day.
Incorrect. The Territory saved Ford Australia not BA.
