Default New altenator no joy

I have a 1998 AU. The old altenator cactused and cooked the battery. Put in a new altenator and battery and it leaks 4.5 amps : . The battery goes flat while sitting for a couple of hours. Unplugg the wires to the altenator and the battery stays charged. Got another new altenator under warranty and does the same thing. I have checked all the lights, switches etc. Any Ideas please.

maybe undo the fuses one at a time and see when the leak stops?
