O.K,
I know that it is Illegal to remove the seats beacuse of the airbags but, lets say I do and change them with something aftermarket and alot more comfortable, will the airbag light on the dash stay on all the time and if so would ford be able to turn it off??????. Also I think I know the answer to this next question but it should not affect the car in any way should it if I change the seats. I just can't get comfortable in the seats and the just kill my back. |

well.. im not sure about the Focus. but i would assume that is similar to the Fiesta..that if unplugged the car has issues...
also what are the implications of just getting the seat re-bolstered to feel better and re-upholstered maybee?

I know the feeling. I intend seeing an upholsterer about mine.

If you take some dimensions of the actual seat you'll find they are a pretty skinny seat, and they only just clear the centre console. That rules almost all aftermarket and fat BA seats. Plus then you have no airbags at all unless you had a CL non-safety pack airbag module or something.
How bout getting some XR5 seats? Airbag problem solved, no fuss with putting the seat nor problems with non-complying seats. The other good idea mentioned is reupholstering - A Melbourne member did this with his Zetec although im not sure if it has extra boulstering. |
