My mate said you cant just get bearings and you need to buy the whole hub and its like $210. Anyone fixed these before? What is the cheapest option?

Go to some one like R and E auto parts or Auto One type place and get them got quoted $140 for a pair from R and E autos here in vic.

There's a few threads on this.
ww.ozeparts.com.au sells them for $80 .... brand new ... deliver direct to your door ... usually in a Ford Spare Parts box as well. There's also a great How-To tutorial from Ronwest ... do a search for wheel bearing ... should be a link in the "Common Problems with AU" on the last page.
