Default Suspension or Extractors

This is just a quick poll as im torn between two items that i want for my car.

Suspension is as follows;
FORD TD/TC CORTINA REAR SUSPENSION SET UP, NEAR NEW . ONLY USED FOR 1000KMS . Set up includes 4 rear control arms(that have been boxed for strength and have nolathane bushes), 2 Kmac rear springs(that are 2,1/2 inch lowered) and 2 Koni ajustable rear shocks. the kit fits a Ford TD/TC cortina.
$260 (including postagae)

or
Extractors;
Precrossflow 250 Pacemaker Extractors, Available with single or dual outlets, Increase Horsepower and Torque by approx 10%-, Improves driveability, Improves Fuel Economy, Improves vehicle exhaust system note,
Precision cut and machined thick flanges to eliminate leaking and warpage,
Heat proof finish tested to 1270 degrees, Pipe over cone design for maximum flow, 2 Year Seller Warranty, Supplied with fitting instructions

Make it handle and stop first. Have you done any suspension works yet?

Why do you need modified control arms? I can't see them being street legal or necessary.

No, i havent done any suspension work, at all on it. Why wouldnt they be legal?

If you had to do one over the other, I'd do suspension for safety reasons.

Then with a better tune and the money you will save. Then suspension

Id get extractors. Well I DID get extractors. However, its a personal choice. And it depends on how badly you need suspension... if it's a safety issue, then do that first. If all things are equal and there is no safety issue, I would just go for the extractors....

depends.. always get extractors if you dont have em and you have bad drone probs..

but i went extractors over susp in my last car... and i crashed it.

safety first my son... go suspension.

Yeah, personally, unless you really need the suspension, I'd get the extractors.

I'd go extractors. If the current suspension setup isn't unsafe, whats with all this "safety" nonsense you guys are on about? It's not like extractors are going to turn his precrossflow cortina into a 700hp firebreathing tyre-shredding monster.

It obviously comes down to what you want more - bit of extra power and nicer exhaust note, or a better handling car. Realistically you will notice alot mroe of a difference with the suspension setup than you would with the extractors, but if it were me I'd be getting the extractors.

I think you'll have issues with any suspension component that has been welded. I assume that's what has been done to strengthen them. I'm not curent with the regs these days but it used to be a big no-no, with good reason.

If your only choice is between extractors or suspension, I'd go for the extractors. You can't get a better exhaust note from suspension components!

It your money, if the car is handling crapy the fix the suspension frist other wise i would do the extractors frist.

i think people should put this into context - were talking about a 6cyl TC/TD CORTINA ie one of the most unbalanced and dangerous handling cars out there!

ive owned a couple of 6cyl TE cortys and they were dangerous with their bloody heavy fronts. and ive heard the TC and TD's are worse.

The car is already unsafe as it is, so i think it would be best to get some control back into it before you put any more power into it.

Decent suspension is something you'll notice and enjoy every time you drive, however you drive. You MAY notice a difference with extractors, but the novelty will wear off, and you'll still be driving a barge (assuming suspension in it's current state is standard, possibly shagged)
My vote goes to suspension.

i beleive that you must be able to stop and corner before you can go fast. definintely in my opinion go and do the suspension first, you will be happier in the long run

I need to sink some money into it FFOracing, its totally stock. Its just a quick get around car til i start on my wagon (XY, a proper Ford).

Not much though, i just want it to go a bit better etc...

Then I suppose it all depends on how far away the XY is. BTW - Top Choice!

If you're looking at years, then by all means spend some money on the Cortina. Otherwise, save your clams and sink them into the XY. You'll be glad you did. Good XY's are few and far between these days.
