Default Need Help Deciding

For those that read the other thread, I've given up on an XF burnout car and have narrowed it down to two. EA Falcon for $350 or a VN Calais for $500. Any ideas which would be best for skids? Obviously I'd prefer the EA but be honest. Thanks.

Seriously, the VN is wicked for skids. Weld the diff, 14 inch skinnies on the back, and 4.11's, and cut off the exhaust. They are sweet. And yes, Im being serious.

When I used to work for a certain insurance company in SA I got a brand new VN bright red V6 Commodore Executive. 1400KG 3.8 buick V6 meant that my young girl friend at the time used to fry the tyres crossing Unley road to Coles. that thing was born to fry tyres.

Get the VN. They are great at burnouts, just ask half the SA P plate population at midnight around town.

Cut the roof off, rip all the panels off, and strip the interior so you lose weight and can't tell it's Holden, and absolutely disrespect it haha!

Buy both, and rip the panels off the EA and put them on the VN. Come on, I can't be the only one who can see the design similarities in the two haha

Cutting the roof off will take away what little body rigidity the VN had in the first place. The thing would disappear up its own clacker.

But yes, The VN would be my weapon of choice for the Redneck Olympics.

I like it when we jack the inlaws VN up under the firewall.....and it seperates the panels by 25mm......

Er I assume you mean after its been modified? If your talking a stock engine the EA is as gutless as they come...

VN. These things had to have restrictor plates fitted by dealers as customers were complaining about excess wheelspin.

Depends if it's CFi or Multipoint. CFi is gutless but multipoint actually goes pretty well. Combined with a manual, they absolutely hammer. My EA was faster than most EF/ELs back when it had the stock 3.9 and manual. It's even faster again with the EL motor

True story

60 year old Jack trades his VH Dunnydore in on a new VN in 1988. Jack is used to mashing his right foot into the firewall to get it's wheezy **** off the line at the lights. HHMMM even better

Mate had a 5 speed 3.9 MPI EA S pak
Used to give my old RB30 Skyline Silhoette a hiding straight line
BUT
When corners were involved
Ford gotta hiding
We nick named his EA "The Boat"
Cause it used to float around corners

Anyway back to the topic
Wouldnt matter which one really,there both cheap as chips
Blow it up
Sell whats left over for cheap
Then go buy another cheapie

500 bucks for the vn is a start.. it won't last long as the motors suck crap..(my mate had one years ago and constant engine problems came with it..)
the ea is in my opinion cheaper to find and replace parts..and easier..
i also think it is better for drifting too..if you decide to go there..

If you get the EA, I'm pretty sure pintara diff centres fit in the EA housing, they have a 4.11 ratio, better than whatever "economy" ratio the EA would have. Weld up that sucker, take off the exhaust, fit a cheap thermo and external tranny cooler, gut the interior and fit a linelocker(vice clamp on the rear brake line) and skid car away!
