Default Monday evening "Cruise"

The committee is asking for members to assist in placing roadside signage at strategic places throughout Canberra on the evening of Monday 28th February to advertise our CAFD. We thought we could turn this into a "cruise" and ask to place your name on the list if you can help/participate:

Have we got a list of where these went out last year? That may help dishing out regions?

Stu, I'll send a list of locations but there are rules and regulations that apply to moveable signage . I am waiting on PLI from CAMS before we can erect any signs, should have it by end of this week. I will look after the areas controlled by NCA.

Thanks Dave. Please advise when we have the PLI, and we can start looking at getting some members involved with sign distribution.

With a list of signage locations for the general ACT, I will send an email to members so that we can target specific areas. Thanks for taking care of the NCA controlled area.

Cheers

Hi all.

I am in the process of getting the signage positions from last year.

Whilst we are waiting, does anyone have any good thoughts a good exposure positions for our signs to place the week before CAFD?

My thoughts:
Tuggeranong Parkway - after Cotter Road Northbound.
Hindmarsh Drive - over the hill both ends. approaching lights when cars are slowing.
Adelaide Avenue approaching State Circuit
Monaro Hwy - approaching lights at Mugga Way?
Federal Highway - inbound as cars are focusing on the speed camera.
Barton Highway - approaching the Federal Highway intersection.

Please feel free to add any more suggestions for maximum exposure. I am thinking of areas where traffic is slowed, driver's tend to have more chance of seeing our signage.

Thoughts guys and gals?

Stu

I think Drakeford drive in Tuggeranong. From Calwell up towards Kambah.

What are the quantity you guys have for distribution. I have seen the mustang show signs and they are in easy to read locations along Drakeford

Guys, by my calculation, we have now got 27 signs - 6 allowed in the NCA contolled areas and up to 20 around the rest of the ACT.

I am now trying to determine a meet point to distribute signs and allocate signs to people based on their home areas (hopefully). Both Glenn and Dave have stakes and cable ties, so if those that are assisting could please bring a hammer, we should be all set

Watch this space.

Tuggeranong Parkway - after Cotter Road Northbound.
Drakeford Drive - Double sided in centre island to be visable in both directions?
Hindmarsh Drive - over the hill both ends. approaching lights when cars are slowing.
Monaro Hwy - approaching lights at Mugga Way?
Federal Highway - inbound as cars are slowing for the roundabout.
Barton Highway - approaching the Federal Highway intersection - double sided in centre island?
Dickson - Antill Street approaching Northbourne.
Ginninderra Drive - approaching Moate street
Belconnen Way
Hindemarsh Drive Weston Creek
Flemington Road Mitchell.
GDE at Mitchell
West Belconnen somewhere - someone that knows the area please?

Stu

A big thank you to those who braved the wet weather last night as we put up the signage for the CAFD.
I have comments already about the signs so they are getting noticed.
Roll on Sunday

Good to hear Glenn.

They do stand out nicely.

Those that helped please update the google map link I sent out last night. It'll help in, one being able to collect them all (Sunday night), and two for future events we don't have to think to hard about where to place them, as we'll already have a plan.

I plan to drive the same route we did last night on Sunday after the show to grab the ones we put out. I don't think it will take too long to grab the 5 signs.

That's cool.

But we ended up missing a whole bunch from last year (so Glenn had to make up new ones). So if we all know where they all are, they can be collected.

Not sure. This the first year I've helped with the signs.

I put a copyright on it Stu. If you infringe it, you have to wash my car for the show

Sounds like a good idea. Maybe with all points recorded, we can use it as a guide for future shows.
