Maybe it's a Recce Car. The Pirtek Team had a White LS LX Focus with a Rollcage etc. at the Rally of Melbourne.

the lights would be great for those all-day fogs in upper UK, but the rest is bad! very bad.

I'm not sure the wing is for the LS Focus. Looks like th one for an LR due to the way it obscures the lights.
