you need to read more matey lol
add me to msn if you like blackers10@hotmail.com there should be an 8" hole in teh shelf (even in forte they have the hole) you need the shelf cover with the grill in it for it to work properly(altho if you add a spacer in and bolt it in from underneath im told a 10" will fit FINE the rest of your speakers are exactly what the premium sound had.. (2 way 5x7" speakers) they however had tweeters mounted in the A pillars behind little grills (no longer available from ford but im told BA items fit) the stock sub is OK but aftermarket is better good luck

I know the amp is hidden behind the carpet on the right hand side of the boot, does anyone know the dimensions of the amp needed for a snug fit?
I've been tossing up the idea of putting in the air sub and amp. If 10in will fit, it makes the idea all that much sweeter. Can anyone comment on the sound quality of an airsub? |

a free air subs sound quality is pretty average
you would be much better off building a fibreglass/mdf sub box and mounting it on the side in the indentation between the back wheel arch and the boot (just infront of where the amp would be)

Are there any aftermarket boxes that you can buy that do the same? Wouldn't know where to start building one.

go for a look around some BIGGER aftermarket car audio shops. they may have somthing (Some make up fibrelgass installs and just sell them off .. etc etc)
fibreglassing doesnt look that hard aye do a search on google for HOW TO's and you will be suprised

The original pioneer factory speakers do not last too long if you have metal or bassy stuff playing all the time.
My solution was to fit 5*7 Fusion speakers 150 watt per corner and the sub is a 300 watt JBL item. AMP wise the 250 watt factory item is running front speakers and a 600watt pioneer is running the rear and the sound is very clear and doesnt vibrate every corner of the car. Hope this helps in some way.
