Default Two tone AU?

Seeing as I'm keeping my AU I'm thinking of painting it.

I like the Barossa Red in the sun but it looks dirty in the shade (no metalflake catching the sun).

Sooooooo.... I may change the red to a lighter/brighter one (there's a very nice red on the new-ish Lancer) but I'm wondering if anyone has done (or seen) a two tone au? Prob Red on top and silver (or black) below is what I'm thinking.

Opinions welcomed but it will have to be some sort of red

Any photoshoppers want to have a crack at it?

probally depends on which 2 colours you use, and which 2 colours go together well and suit the car

Thanks for the pic boosted au, and i think that's not too bad. Personally i would have two-toned it down to the bump strip line rather than above the doorhandles.
Oh and after checking Henri's photochops, i'd go light on the top, dark on the bottom anyway.

That was my initial intention. However a look through Google Images has got me thinking seriously about high siding it.

My Dad used to say that "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" and whilst that is true, I think that you can make a pretty reasonable sows ear

I'll think about it a bit more and maybe teach myself photoshop basics and have a play around.

It's split at the body line. Will be getting a revamp one day soon.

The body line is the logical place to divide. I also agree that generally the lighter colour should go topsides. I reckon silver over the Barossa red would look a treat. If Barossa isn't your upper colour then you won't need to worry about the "sparkle" or lack thereof in dull light because the silver will lift it enough for you. Also having the darker lower colour enhances your choice of wheels and gives them more "background" to show them off.

Hmm, certainly food for thought in your response. I've got a set of dished/black centred rims to go on and I think they would work well with the combination you mention.

I'm sure you're right about the silver lifting the red in darker surroundings.

OK photoshoppers, anyone want to have a go at that?

Thanks mate... appreciate it.

If poss could I see something along the lines of the first pic. Just looking for ideas and the front does lend itself to that differentiation. I've picked up a couple of Forte grills so I guess the grill could be colour coded (I'll leave it up to you)

What the bloody hell is that! Is that a PS?

Two tones can look awesome but please dont do purple/silver; way over done.

And Barrossa Red has to be one of the best factory colours once the sun hits it, look at my avatar, that was just a random shot but it reflects very well in the right light.

No, I painted the line on to see how it would look, lol.

No intention of purple silver. Something/Barossa Red will do nicely

I agree about Barossa in the sun... very nice.
IMO it's not a nice colour out of the sun. Looks a dirty red to me.

Wow... you're a seriously talented guy...

Happy birthday (even if it's at work)

When you get a chance can you reverse the colours - silver on top?

Cheers mate, really appreciate this
