You have to re-build the entire rear section of the floor pan as the mounts are completely different. If you are a panel beater and have free access to all the equipment and have the free time to do it then go ahead. Otherwise it is more cost effective to sell your car and buy one with IRS already fitted.

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago - "IRS CONVERSION" - expensive and a lot of work.....my query of this was because my suspension set up raises wheels of the ground when going up a driveway at an angle and I was getting tired of being in a 'diagonal see-saw' when this happened......I can live with it though - modding cars has certain draw backs - main one I found is the 'creature comforts' such as handling better....increase of NVH and ride etc.

Their is aguy who did this on the EL/Ef as well as converting to VST but it looked like a major job, He has a web site so you can see the job.

All I can say, currently having no rear end in my XR8, is that you do not want to be doing this yourself. The IRS weighs a ton, and you need alot of room to work with to even get it out from under the car.
